SEATTLE Vacation!

Kelsey's Perfect Vacation: her husband plans everything with his coworker of where they're going and what to do when they're there for a fun, cool-weather vacation...it happened! I didn't have to do anything but pack and show up! ;)

And we had PERFECT weather! No rain and around 80 degrees all week.

We got to enjoy this neat city with our friends Jesse and Amber.

The Aquarium

Celebrating Scott's Birthday by watching the Mariners! What more could he ask for?!

Space Needle! We got to go during the day and at night.

This was by the Space Needle...I was backing up trying to get a pic and almost stepped on a homeless man passed out on the grass. There were quite a few homeless people around Seattle and we decided maybe the free city bus and things like that have something to do with it...

Rock 'n Roll Museum

Scott wasn't a huge fan of this. I don't blame him too much though...it was a lot of reading how the musicians that started out in the Seattle area (Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, etc.) got started and then how they overdosed on drugs and died or how they killed themselves...

We took a ferry ride to see the Seattle skyline.

Scott really enjoyed his new app that let's him take multiple pictures and make one out of it.

Pike's Place Market

We did a session in the be-a-u-tiful Seattle temple.

Boeing Tour

We rode a ferry! It was pretty crazy for me, but an everyday thing here with cars going over every half hour.

We got to the other side and picked up some seashells.

Flight Museum

And then....ANOTHER Mariners Game!!!

Our friends left Friday afternoon, so Scott wanted to go to a game where his hero, Felix Hernandez, was pitching. We got the seats that came with shirts and had a really enjoyable time cheering.

Snoqualmie Falls

Hiking! It was really different looking around and only seeing trees and forest instead of pretty views. But the view was beautiful when we go to the top.

And we got to pick blackberries!

The Beach

We visited Scott's Grandmother's grave. What a great woman! I'm glad I got to meet her.

Very nice trip. Well done Scott!

Scott's Birthday: #27

September 4th was the birthday, but September 3rd was the present-opening day because we were leaving for Seattle on the 4th! Scott's best present was watching the Mariners play some baseball!

He got to buy Mariners gear and I also got him Jerry Seinfeld tickets (we're going tonight!).

My Sister Missionary Is Home!!

Kadie's home from her 18-month mission to Ukraine! My flight arrived in SLC an hour before her's, so I waited in the terminal and got to surprise her (although I should have done it a little differently and REALLY got her good...next time).

Scott came up a couple days later since he had class.

She gave an EXCELLENT talk on Sunday and then we got together with the fam afterwards for food.

She got us some souvenirs:

I can't help but think of Nacho: This man lived a good life. He had a wonderful woman, a lush garden...and a collection of Russian nesting dolls.
Ours are Ukrainian though:)

Emm had a recital...she did great!

Mom did a good job accompanying too (for multiple people).

Sorry for the blurry-ness.

AND, we got to have a family reunion the same weekend!

Grandma took us around Cache Valley to see significant sites: this is the house in Hyde Park where she was born and grew up.

The guy currently living here didn't really know why a big group of people came to check out his living space...he ended up leaving...and yes, it was a little awkward!

We got to hear some temple stories of our ancestors and Grandma's dad worked at the temple for many years and we got to hear about that too. Neat-O!

Grandma with her oldest and youngest grandchildren (Brian is 30-something and Mason is 3--that's what happens when you have 10 kids).

Boys will be boys...

And of course, the waterslide.

And just a little random note: the parentals got this from a friend and will use it at the cornmaze this October. Until then, they were trying to scare everyone;)
